hello, my new system is built and running, however im having trouble getting windwos to install. i don't know if its because its sata or what. i know ur supposed to load the sata drivers during windows setup, but i can't even get into windows setup by my usual means. i usually use fdisk. but it seems when i try to create a partition, fdisk begins veriying the intergrity and all that stuff, but it goes up 5% then goes back to 0 and then up a some percentage again, then back to 0. does this mean i have a bad drive? is this what u guys do when starting from scratch? is there some other way to go about it? thx.

Have you tried simply trying to install/format straight from the windows disk and bypassing the whole fdisk thing? Give it a try. Hit F6 while the setup loads the files, load your SATA drivers, and let windows do the partition creation/format for you.

Also, make sure you have everything properly enabled for SATA in bios.
