It has been mentioned ocasionally in the fourms that 'my neibhors' AP is unsecured and I can just jump on. My quetion relates to responsable actions taken by the preson who discovers the unsecured networks (ME). Lets say that I connect to one of the unsecured networks and net send to all workstations about the network security, siggust how to fix it, and offer to fix it. Does this qualify as breaking and entering or a simmilar criminal offence? I'd like to help but I want to be sure that I can't be arrested for doing a good deed. Google did not have much to say about it.

Thoughts??

Some people go around looking for insecure networks and make a living off finding them, I say jump in it, then go over and tell him, Hey I'm on your internet...

though i am unsure of the laws. But if they dont make it secure i dont see how it would be illegal to connect, since his doors are wide opened...

I could do that but I don't want to get busted. Good point.

That would be like saying if somebodies front door is open that you have the right to enter their house. Crappy justification.
