postalsid Posted December 22, 2002 Posted December 22, 2002 Ok... all im doing is guessing and throwing out idea so that way a solution will present it self, Yes, im going to sound like a comp tech. now: 1. Did you ground the mobo, because I thought that it had to be grounded 2. I know its not alot of time but maybe its over heating 3. maybe a wire not connected or connected wrong or bad wire 4. Hard Drive shot 5. proc shot 6. I dont know 7. Why are you asking me this is too much pressure
Calyco Posted December 22, 2002 Posted December 22, 2002 How is the PSU? Does the v-card work alone? Is the ram the correct speed for the board?

Ronin Posted December 24, 2002 Posted December 24, 2002 throw it in the dumpster and buy a new computer , no no, I kid, I kid!~ take out everything but the RAM, cpu, mobo, Video card and PSU. Should post. If not start switching around parts to see if one of yours is bad ps, do what the others said first
TiM Posted December 24, 2002 Posted December 24, 2002 Just not enough information I think. Try to check every component separately. If they all are working ok - connect them step-by-step and check boot on every step. That's the way I use, if I can't find problem in 15 mins. ibelevnf8 Posted December 25, 2002 Posted December 25, 2002 The mobo doesn't have to be in a case to work correctly. I have tested boards since i have learned that you could do that. I would vote heavily on the power supply. (I know that you aren't dumb...LOL!!) But make sure that the power supply is on 115V. If the memory was bad, the computer would beep at you.(Speaker hooked up?) If the hard drive was bad, it wouldn't detect it and still start. I think that you can get something on the screen even if you don't have a processor in it, or if it was bad(not sure) If the video card was bad then the comp would start, but no video.
