BloodySunday Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 It all depends I would get a new PSU if you going to get a 6800GT/Ultra but unless your a High Res all eye candy gamer stick with the 6600GT.
Hades25 Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 word .. ill just keep it then ...thanks for the input everyone!
phatazzmoose Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 For a $250 budget either the 6800 non-ultra or a 6600gt. Both are about the same when it comes to performance.  not even close  the 6600GT has 8 pixel pipelines and the 6800 has 12. the 6800GT has 16 and i've heard that some people can get the 6800 and unlock the other 4 making it the GT model. even if you OC the 6600GT, you still dont have the "manpower" (pipes) to do as much work as the 6800
swifty11212 Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 I think you should be worried, remember those cards need more than what is said, becarefull overclocking now. and anyways, i think ill check out circuit city if they still have them rebate things going on. phatazzmoose Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 if your not gonna run the new games at max eyecandy and resolution then the 6600GT will be perfect.. and yes the 6800 will beat the 6600GT...
