LobbDogg Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 People outside your network need either your external IP address or you need to setup a domain name for people to use which will redirect to your external IP.
henbenley Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 go to ipchicken.com and find out your external ip and then post it to see if we can access it

jone00blaze Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 if youre using verizon youre moe than likely using a cable or dsl modem. youre gonna want to go to no-ip.com and download there tools to redirect your people to a static ip address, aswell as set up a domain. ive been trying to figure this out for weeks now and thats as far as ive gotten. now i have ot figure out how to setup the actuall file sharing part with apache. chardonnayii Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I thought apache is a web server program (http), not FTP (file transfer) try looking around for an FTP server program (free). I can't seem to find a good one. You will also need to configure your router/modem to forward information from port 21 (FTP) or 80 (http). This depends on your individual router. Guest Jeremy Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 An FTP or HTTP will work fine. Go download Apache, and put all of your music files in the apache/htdocs directory. For example, if you put song.mp3 in your htdocs directory, to access it remotely, you would type your external ipaddress, and then /song.mp3 It would look something like this: xx.xxx.x.xx/song.mp3
