markiemrboo Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 You best bet is WineX/Cedega. Commerial, have to pay for it. Database: http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/ Halo: http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/games/view.mhtml?game_id=3193 Not looking too good.. Personally, if gaming is your thing why not stick stick to Windows? Me, the BSD lover, thinks Windows makes for a nice general desktop O/S.. playing games and all that. I just can't be doing of all the hassle trying to make games work with alternative Operating Systems though. Meuh!
Leldorion Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 You should also try getting point2play if you're going to use cedega...makes it alot easier I hear.

hardnrg Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 linux is retarded for gaming... i had the misfortune to experience linux on a PS2 development kit earlier today... it's like a bloody amiga OS lol... dual boot winxp (gaming) and linux (whatever you want linux for)
Leldorion Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 you can get earlier versions of cedega, I think...probably 4.2 or so...
cchalogamer Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Or just use Windows for most everything and use Linux for stuff like Folding Farms If i ever get enough rigs to take time to do it i plan on using a Linuz Server to boot my farm PCs off of, but i dont have the parts to do it. Adrohak Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Last time I checked the Transgaming website, Halo was not supported by Cedega anyway. Halo certainly doesn't have a native port, and Cedega doesn't support it, and I've never heard of anyone having success getting Halo to run in Linux, so... My bets are that you won't be playing Halo in Linux. However, Cedega will handle almost every other game or program on the market, so don't take this Halo experience to mean that Linux is not for gaming.
