Geforce 2 Twin View (nview) Not Detecting Tv

I have a p3 800Mhz pc with 256 sdram, nVidia geforce 2 MX 400, running Windows XP with service pack 1.

I just did a fresh re-install of my computer, but cannot get the geforce 2 MX 400 twin view to work.

I have the svideo out attached to a TV and want to clone the image of my monitor to the TV.

I had the twin view working previously, but cannot get it to work this time.

I only have a few apps installed, namely, Goback 3 Deluxe, Norton Antivirus 2003 (which I disable when I install the graphics card driver), Atomic Clock, and Norton Ghost 2003. It's pretty much a bare bones install at this stage, and I don't think anything on the software list here could cause the problems I'm experiencing with the graphics cards twin view.

The hardware and connections are fine - I've tested the TV out on two television sets, both of which work for normal TV and AV1 and AV2. In fact, I've been able to use the 'TV Tool' (http://tvtool.info/index_e.htm) and have the picture outputed to the TV, but TV Tool turns your monitor off when it does this (I want to be able to look at and work on my monitor and have the picture out put to the TV at the same time, which TV tool doesn't do).

I can't recall the driver version I had before I did the clean install, but I have tried geforce drivers for Windows XP, namely, 41.09_win2kxp.exe (the latest driver), 40.72_winxp_WHQL.exe, and 30.82_winxp.exe, all with the same result.

Basically, my computer does not detect the TV plugged into the svideo of my geforce 2 card. It's not detected by windows i.e. control panel -> display -> settings tab, only shows the one monitor. Whilst control panel -> display -> settings tab -> Advance - > GeForce 2MX/MX 400 tab - > nView Display mode, does not detect the attached TV. When I hit 'detect display' or use 'Force detection of a monitor on the secondary connector', the TV screen flickers, but then nothing.

Using 'Force detection of a monitor on the secondary connector' and then choosing 'clone', 'horizontal span' or 'vertical span', I'll go to 'Device settings' button, but I can't use the 'set out put device' option, as it is greyed out. Normally I should be able to change output device to 'TV'. When I installed the older driver, 30.82_winxp.exe, I was able to access 'set out put device' option, but the 'TV' option was greyed ou on the screen which comes up.

I have tried different hertz settings but with no luck.

I'm at my wits end and could do with some advice.

The graphics card is new by the way, replaced on warranty.

Cheers
