Painting The Heatre Core

im getting a heater core coming in to me very soon, but i want to paint it, but before i do, will it effect the performance? and what paint should i use, im want it black, was thinking about engine enamal (low gloss) or something,

Thats what i was going to suggest. Gloss black engine enamal. Duplicolor makes some good stuff. they also have a bunch of colors to choose from if you go that route.

My guess is if the paint is very light, it wont affect the performance of it.The ones selling everywhere are probably painted with spray guns like car paint, with those you can have the paint very thin

ya, i used almost the exactly same heatercore, personally i would not paint it cuz it will affect preformance

i dont think itll do anything cuz i asked the guy, 2fresh, who sells those heatercores for about $37, and he paints all the heater cores he sends out and he said it wont do anything and i havent heard any complaints from anyone whos bought them w/ painted fins

I really doubt it would effect performance, it being sprayed it will be thin, and the only thing that is bad for performance is trapped air, and obviously you wont get that with spray paint

engine enamal paint was made so that when you spray it, its very thin, non-run/drip paint
