Whitelightning Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I got my intel rig running....2.4c overclocked to 3.2ghz...I have hyperthreading enabled and I am folding...I made a new folder and copied the folding program to it...I am running 2 instances of folding...in the task manager it shows each instance as using 50% cpu power....is this the correct way it should run or should each instance say 100%??? Nemo Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 You got it right - each instance should show 50% usage.

drewkivela Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 yeah but i think you have to have them running on different 'processors' go into task manager, processes right click on the cores and go to set affinity... and put them on different 'processors' like 0 and 1. thats how i have mine set up -drew
Nemo Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Setting the affinity is not necessary. I believe GTSticky did a test on this a while back and reported that setting the affinity actually hurt performance. I never bothered with this myself on my P4. Setting affinity doesn't do squat.
