NyCUnDaGroUnD Posted December 15, 2002 Posted December 15, 2002 Yes this is the thing to happen. The NYC transit system is going on strike on monday maybe. That means no Buses or subways. Picture me riding a bike with thousands of other people to classes. Its goin to be like CHina. And if there is a strike my final exams get pushed to January.YEAH I think they planned it at the best time of the year. CHristams time. But the union that is striking well get a $1 million a day fine and after that $2 million and so on.

xpandapuss Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 Well no strike....there was a tentative agreement.... But in the case of a strike the heads of the Transit Workers' Union [TWU] would be fined $1000 a day, all members of the TWU would be fined $2500 a day, all members that did strike would lose 2 days pay for everyday on strike....all fines would double everyday for the duration of the strike. All this would be in violation of the Tyler Law [inducted in 1967]. Law suits will still be filed against the TWU for preporations the city of NY had to institute. The city would have lost [up to] $350 million--not including losts to other fundings such education. Thank God it's all over...too bad we'll be facing a transit fare hike....that sux!!!!
