martymcfly Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 will this fan controller support the vantec tornado? http://xoxide.com/aerocool-coolpanel-21-black.html
evanin Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 (edited) I have a Vantec Nexus that tames my Tornado, and yes that will work. That controller you picked can control everything, even has 2 sata ports, crap. Edited January 16, 2005 by evanin
martymcfly Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 i meant wattage-wise cuz i know that the tornado has large demands
CNUco2007 Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 voltage actually wouldnt be ur concer, current would. im not sure how much current it draws or just how much that controller can handle, but u can always email the company and ask them. martymcfly Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 how much does the tornado require?
Vampire Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 The 92mm tornado is a 12v 1.0 amp fan. Yes that fan controller will slow the tornado down. It should be fine. That AeroCool has so much stuff on it! 2 SATA ports??
martymcfly Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 how slow will it slow it down? I would like to keep similar temps to those I have now (24 case temps/33 cpu on load).
Achapman Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 i have my torandos on a vantec controller. Putting them all on the lowest setting increases my temps by 2 degrees..Its worth it from a temp to noise ratio i think

I think you adjust the fan speed to what you want it to be at.
ccokeman Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Not sure if the aerocool can handle the load. Even on thier site i could not get what kind of amp draw it can handle. 1 amp is a pretty big draw. You want something that can handle at least 18watts per channel
evanin Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I only have the tornado connected to my nexus. when I turn it all the way up it roars! lol. All the way down and I can sleep near it peacefully.
kobalt Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 That thing is really cool but i wouldn't trust it with a tornado. If i were you i'd make a separate controller just for it like one of those turn down knobs that comes with smart fans .
