gravy Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Okay, I am ready to click on the order button to get an XP-120 heatsink from Amazon.com for $52.94 shipped and all(btw, newegg has them for $65 plus around $6 shipping, so say 72 bucks) I know this question has been asked a few times, and I have been searching and readin through threads here for the last hour or so..............never really saw a consensus on what the best fan for the money/sanity is.....lol I am trying to find the best fan for this thing. My TT Spark 7+ is rated at 43db at it's highest rpm, which it always runs to stay cool. Dude, this thing sounds like a dirt devil!! So I am looking for suggestions, prefferably from experience, as far as which fan to get, looking to hit as close to 100cfm as i can without getting too loud! Also, I have seen alot of Panaflow fans and such on eBay. They only show a two pin female connector. Would I be able to use that fan with the knob controller that came with my TT Spark 7? Which fan do I need to get to stay cool here. I am tired of looking at 60+ load temps! Thanks guys!
CmpFreak88 Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 No! Go to SVC and get that and a Panaflo and Some Arctic Silver. I paid 77.00 Total for everything including shipping and I had no problems. I am a bit concerned about my XP-120 as you read in an earlier post, but temps seem to be dropping slightly.

FunkyMonkey Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 i know panaflows are quiet but they dont push too much air their quiestest fan is 28dba and only pushes 32cfm and costs alot more than generic fans i got these evercool fans that push 32cfm and is 25dba and was twice as cheap
sykocus Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 i really like panaflos...especially their 80mm. for 120mm i really like the enermax. its adjustable and at max speed pumps 94.9cfm at only 30 db. also its only 25mm thick, comared to 38mm for most 120mm fans. http://www.frozencpu.com/fan-33.html
Aiecc_Ixi Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 i was going to go with this http://www.frozencpu.com/fan-22.html but a side question is 45 db that loud.... or is it still as loud as a tornado?
sykocus Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 80mm tornades are like 55db so you're still far from that. also to me the pitch of the of the fan makes a big difference. smaller high rpm fans tend to be higher pitched and grate on my nerves more, while larger fans can spin slower and move more air without having the whining sounds. (think hair dryer vs. oscillating fan). I had a 120 a lot like that one, and it was pretty good, lot of output and souned a like like a oscillating fan. In fact this is the one I had. pretty much the same specs but, less then half the price and you'll have to wire up your own connector. gravy Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 well, i decided to go with the sunon at newegg, 108 cfm's for about half the cost of that YS Tech and about the same noise level i am sure 45db from this 120mm fan wont be nearly as bad as the 43db coming from this little 60, or 70, or whatever fan comes with the TT Spark 7+, little orange monster, that thing is mad crazy loud!
