My Mouse Mod (pics Included)

This is my mouse mod so fare. Unfortunatly it's an old mouse, and it doesn't work that well. it's going to be a second mouse.

perhaps I will disconnect the wires exept for the power.

the drawing on he back is a simple disign I made, but it might be replaced with a better one.

this is a bit further down the road. I have spend way to much time trying to fix the cracks in the window caused by the glue. I have no Idea that this could happen. the plexiglass clacked a few milimeters in the places it was bent. I covered it up by sanding a 3mm edge of the glass and paint it like the rest of the mouse. I am pretty frustrated it happened. this is the result. it isn't smooth yet. and the disign is a bit off now. This is my first mod like this, and the hardest so far. one of the others is flothing around aswell, but it hasn't been finished either because it leaks. I hope the last window will make it all up although I havn't figered out what to do about the cracks. I used clear plexiglass aproved glue. I will take an other type ofcource.

It is an old mouse, which is a good thing.

first because it' a mouse with ball(s)

and secondly because I decided I messed it up.

After two weeks of trying to repair one the cracked glass as good as possible I dicided to start over again.

I riped the glass out, and sanded it white again.

This is 2 weeks of work down the drain, but I hope I have learned from it.

This time I'm going to make the glass better till it is as good as perfect.

I'm also going to use other glue ofcource.

I have added an window at the bothem, and I'm going to put the window on top in aswell.

 

I'm not sure if I have to paint it before I put the grass in or not.

Last time with the glass in it turned out fine, but it can always be better.

I have a good primer I think, but I don't know what kind of paint I should use.

It should be shiny.

I used a good quality model paint bepore.

I think the biggest problem is that I don't have an air brush.

 

I will continue to post my progress, but I need some feedback before I have a mental breakdown. this it the second big project, and the first turned out as desasterous as this one.

 

the most important thing I need is some good advise on the paint options I have.

 

I hope others can learn from this.

It could use an LED, but other then that very cool.

well, as I wrote a bit further down, I started over again. I have worked 3 hours on bending and shaping one of the side windows. it fits almost well enough so that I won't need any glue. I have found out what caused the previous window to crack. when shaping the glass I used a waterproof maker on the sides. after dremling the very top layer (0.1mm) the marker was still visible, so it got deeper somehow. when the glue dried, it expended, and cracked the already streched glass.

 

I also have the disign on he back. Pencilgod got me a very good design, and I'm looking if it's able to make. It's very nice, but difficult.

 

Can someone help me on the paint to use??

Unfortunatly I have dicided that it is nearly impossible to get a good S shaped window. I tried a third time, but it's impossible to get a perfect fit. the glass keeps cracking when I use glue and even then it is to hard to work away all the eges. I have painted the bothem and that looks pretty good but i guess it was just practice for my next project.

 

I do chalange you to find a mouse mod just as complicated but one that did get fineshed.

 

sugestions on how to fix something like this are also welcome
