Athlon Xp-m 2400 35 Watt, Or 2600 45 Watt

Hey everyone, I'm looking at buying an Athlon XP-M to overclock a bit. I've heard that the 2400 (35 Watt version) is the cream of the crop. But I've also heard that getting the faster versions give more headroom to overclock.

 

I'm trying to decide between a 2400 35 Watt, and a 2600 45 Watt. They are within $2 of each other in price. I'd like to get the most performance for my two dollars

 

Any help would be appreciated.

i would say the 2600 because its faster stock and like you said got more headroom to OC. bah i want a mobile now stupid locked 2800+ giving me bad luck if i go 1mhz over 2.4ghz

the 2400 has 10w lowered than the 2600 but it can oc abit more, teh 2600 is at 45w already, but u still can oc. id take teh 2600+

I'm running at 2.3 GHz with a 2600 Barton (FSB @ 200 x 11.5)

 

But I want more speed

BAH my 2800+ is [deleted] only maxxing out @ 2.4 (192x12.5)

Most 2400m's max around 2.4-2.5, but the 2600m's tend to hit up to 2.7

Ok, I bought the 2600

get the 2600M. Ive got mine at 2.5ghz with 1.7v. I wouldn't doubt that this thing can go up another 200-300mhz
