Psywar Posted November 27, 2002 Posted November 27, 2002 you just push down on the left side clip.. and while ur pushing down ukinda push to the right and it should unclip.. I used a reg. screw driver.. but somepeople wont afraid they will push to hard and it will slip or something..

KraZy Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 Ya... I have problems with my XP heatsink as well. Personally I like the wire-cutter idea. Instead of using a mini-screw driver, you might want to find something a little softer than that. I am not sure how steady you hands are, but one slip of a screw driver..... Point being, you can -pry- it off, alot of times you have to. Don't be too afraid, to break something....
Shaggy Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 I hope it wasnt a good heatsink
ibelevnf8 Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 That was a great idea to cut it off. Vyro and I had so much trouble getting the heatsink off my board. I was close to saying to cut it off. I was ready to put my water cooling in. Like psy said, just find a flathead screwdriver, push down, and go to the right(or left) depending on where your standing. And like Krazy said don't be afraid to break something.... Justin
Ronin Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 a trick I learned is that hte longer the skrewdriver the better. You get like a foot long flat head and they just pop off, you try it with a 6 inch skrew driver and it takes like an hour. vyroburn Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 More leverage more power, trick is to be able to hold it down untill you can pop the little thing off the clip.... But those Fans Doo suck bad.. they are harder than hell to get off. I hate them iwth a passion
