saab9-3 Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Hey every one, I was working on a water cooler for the cpu and finished it, the cpu cooling block goes down to 33-35F. To deal with the mass amounts on condensation, I put a peace of thin strong plastic between the cpu and the block with compound both sides. I used a small refrigerator and a punp to circle the water. Seems to run faster and less errors??? maybe it's just me. Dennis
DevilMB3017 Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Wow. That is a good system, but the plastic might be a bad idea. If it works, it works.

bishop245 Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 maybe i should go back to school and relearn the metric system lol but i do know 34F is cold i would like to see pics also
saab9-3 Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 I'll get some pics soon, but now I have to make a small vacuume to suck all that condensed water out of the computer:) It's about a tee spoon an hour!!!!!
d3bruts1d Posted November 27, 2002 Posted November 27, 2002 oh yeah, and we all prefer the metric system Ronin: 35F = 1.6666666666666666C 32F = 0C - Freezing point of water. saab9-3: Are you sure you don't mean 32-35C? As that seams more likely with just a watercooling setup. With a TEC (Pelt) I could see temps of 1.667C... just curious. Either way, nice job. saab9-3 Posted November 27, 2002 Posted November 27, 2002 The temp is in Fahrenheit. I thought I would have to put antifreeze in it but It's just above freezing so the water stays liquid. The evaporator that cools the water has about a 1/4 of ice on it when running. I was thinking of putting a peltier on it too. I did use a full A/C system from the frig. The evaporator out of the water will go down to -22C or -4F. Maybe if I leave it on long enough the water will freeze.
d3bruts1d Posted November 27, 2002 Posted November 27, 2002 Very nice. I overlooked the line in your orrigional message that says: " I used a small refrigerator and a punp to circle the water." lol... sounds right to me now. Can't wait to see some pix.
