Vashious Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 I used my fan guard as a stencil and used a marker to mark the size hole I was cutting, as well as where to drill screw holes. Then I used a dremel tool to cut the hole.

Bosco Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 You can use a Jigsaw. Â You can also use a drill with a holesaw. Just buy a holesaw for the size you need. For example, if you are installing a 120mm fan, buy a 120mm holesaw. This should give a perfect sized cut. You may need to sand the cut, to make it clean. Â Â Just be careful, because plexi glass melts when using highspeed power tools to cut with.
Vashious Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 Yeah, a jigsaw will work, but it's TOUGH to get a nice round hole cut with it. Just take your time if you use a jigsaw, patience is key.
Guest matrax Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 do sombody know the exact size for the jigsaw i need ? and is it at homedepot ?
bishop245 Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 you dont have to buy the best on the market for starters. what you should do is go to home depot and check their selection and see if they have 1 that fits you hand (not to heavy) and is comfortable and in your price range i work in construction so i have used lots of powertools thats where i am coming from it is really up to you
Vashious Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 Yeah, just get a jigsaw that has small teeth, if they teeth are too big, it will make the edges even rougher, and it will be tougher to cut with.
zep_54 Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Use a holesaw, i used a holesaw for mine and it came out absolutly perfect. Go through the lexon slowly, and try to get a holesaw with less coarse teeth, not real fine, but not big ugly jaggeed things, the KEY to it all is to go real slow, if you go to fast itll heat up and expand and crack the sheet, but with a holesaw it comes out so sexy and round. Btw how are you mounting this fan?
