Jonny5 Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Trying to decide wether to switch from Chaintech 7VJL to Microstar MS-6501. I had to send my Box back for repair and if the board is fryed I might switch to the Microstar Just wanted some opinions on both boards, see what people had to say about them. Thanks
d3bruts1d Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Never heard of Microstar... so, I probably woun't touch it with a 50 foot pole. Chaintech is ok, I guess. Not many people use it either. I'd stick with the main boards... Abit, Asus, Abit, AOpen, Abit, MSI, Abit, gigabyte, Abit, Soyo, Abit, Shuttle, Abit, or Abit. Jonny5 Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 I looked Up the Microstar board on alot of site ...its won alot of awards PC Magazine , 2cpu.com, Etc. I've been reading good things about it. I just wanted to see if any one on here had any personal experience. The main thing that is attractive about it is the price i can get the board for 189 on price watch most other dual boards i see are like $250 - $400 bucks. The 6501 also has some nice OC features built in, and as i understand it most dual boards don't have any built in OC feature or very little. Still learnin

d3bruts1d Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 lol... my bad. Shows how much I know about MSI. No, don't know anyone that uses one. Looked it up, and the reviews look to be pretty good. Asus also has a Dual XP board for under $200.

somar Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 I haven't tried that particular board, but I use an MSI board with my computer, and I honestly LOVE it - no complaints about it, runs quickly, POSTs a lot faster than the ASUS I used to use. I have nothing but good stuff to say about MSI in general so far.
