Shibby Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I get this error when i try to do full format , A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. the problem seems to be caused by the following file: partmgr.sys DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS well i dropped my emachines laptop just a short distanc of like 3 feet on to a soft carpet with it open and running. picked it up and continued doing what i was doing on it. and it was fine until i shut it down and went to bed, woke up and booted it and it would not boot xp, so i tried to fix it by repairing and it failed, so tried to format it, and got this error. so does that mean my harddrive is screwed? its a Toshiba HDD
