jkdmaster Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Hey guys, Well a year ago about i got into a crazy car accident and messed up my crazy car, it was a '67 Buick Skylark convertible GS 1/2. It was cool, but i am supposed to be dead from the accident but im not so that means i get insurance money from the other guy. So i want to build the craziest out of my mind system and i am giving my current system to my brother. My 2 question are: 1) Should i wait for Nforce 4 mobos and get 2 ATI X800XT Pe PCI-E video cards? 2) Should i wait for 90nm versions of the FX-55? 3) Any suggestions on a big monitor, TV big? What do you guys think, any thing else i should consider?
Shadowfactor Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 get the NF4 chipset mobo's i dont think you can SLi with 2 ati cards since Nvidia Owns that patent ( not sure though) I wouldnt wait for the 90nm Fx-55 since they wont be out for a lil while and im sure you want this sucker soon
DECwakeboarder Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 I would wait for Nforce 4 mobos and get 2 6800 Ultra's, I don't think the X800's can run on SLI but I'm not sure. About the monitor, I would go with an HDTV 42-50" plasma screen w/ DVI input for everyday use and a 22" CRT for gaming.
jkdmaster Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Thnaks guys, so what 2 video cards should i go with? Oh and i just want one big monitor, like 20-40 inches that would be good for everything. Reason im not going alll out is becasue i am putting most of it on a down payment on a house. Goran Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Why 2 if only 1 monitor?
Vasto Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 SLI....it makes the 2 gfx cards one. Therefore you have a card twice as good. Â Â After you build this beast, I want to see the benchmarks.

Guest Silenc3 Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 :| Why two?! Someone PLEASE enlighten goran on why to have two 6800 ultras. I dont want to go through the whole talk again. Â And the dual 6800 ultra ees would be best. I wouldnt worry about the 90nm fx's, to far ahead. Fx Cpus already own everything the way they are. How much will I be paying fo rthe nForce 4 mobos, i heard like $350....but for a mobo that seems like too much.
