GregP24 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 I've had nothing but problems with my Seagate Barracudas. Ever since I went to a RAID array with them, they've crashed at least once every six weeks. It's the same thing on every mobo I've used, from Albatron to Asus, Abit, and now MSI. The RAID either goes down or critical windows files are lost. Last night, a critical windows file was lost - again. For me, this is the last straw. So, I ordered 2 Seagate 160gb SATA II drives from newegg. I hope these work better than my last ones. So, what's some good advice on keeping a RAID 0 functional for years at a time? This 6 weeks stuff has got to stop.
Nemo Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 I wish I hadn't read this. I'm about to start a new build using Seagate 160GB SATA drives.
GregP24 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 Seagate has a good reputation. I think it's just one of my drives is bad. I'm giving them another chance. If these drives crap out on me, I'll be swtiching to WD Caviar RAID edition or Raptor drives.
Vampire Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 Seagate drives are better than Western Digital drives IMO. My western digital crashed and it wasnt even in a RAID config, plus my Seagate Barra is much quieter than my Western Digital.
