neb1211 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 does anyone know how to use parenthetical citation to cite a web site in a term paper? I know how to cite a web site on the works cited page but am unsure how to cite it in the term paper itself using parenthetical citation. It has to be done using the MLA format. Aliencam Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 go to "easybib.com" they have all the formats and stuff for how to site things, and you can choose MLA format off the list.... well, no, it doesn't tell you HOW to do it, you type in the information it asks you for and it gives you it already done... this is really for hte works cited or bibliography at the end tho... if you are trying to cite somehting IN your paper, i don't know how for a webpage, but if ti was say a book and you were citing a quote, you would do "quotequotequote"(author, page number) no "pg." or "p." before the page number.. just author, comma, space pg.... maybe use footnotes and put "as stated by: www.hypotheticalwebsite.gov " as the footnote... neb1211 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 I can't use foot notes. One of the requirements for the paper is that we use parenthetical citations in the paper itself. I already know how to cite the source on the works citied page.
Muddy Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 just put a works cited at end and put (The first section of the works cited for that sentance) then put page number like (Weasly 239). Thats how we do it at school
