Duff Man Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 A friend of mine just told me something about a cellphone plan with unlimited local cell minutes. the minor problem is that he dosent rember where he saw the ad... anyone know anything about this or something similar? BTW: you know the plans with 1000 anytime minutes? is that really enough? how many do you use a month?
kendellrt Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 We have a company that does that called Cricket. The phone doesn't work if you leave the state though. T-Mobile has a cheap 1000 minute plan here too.

andrusk Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 it really depends. I barely use 200 minutes a month. But I almost never use my phone. For someone thats really talkative I think 1000 wouldnt be enough. But for the average phone user 1000 would be fine.

Overclockersdream Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 down here in MIA we have this company called Metro PCS, it has unlimited minutes, text messages, and so forth for only 45 dollars and no contract... but the service is soo crapy they have come to call it Metro Piece of S***
gravy Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 yeah, Metro PCS is the unlimited local only cell service in atlanta too, not heard too many good things about them though, and if you go vary far out of town the phone is useless, no matter how much you are willing to pay to talk stay away from Sprint PCS, they're coverage is spotty T-Mobile is okay as far as coverage, but if you go over on your minutes you will have to cut off an arm and send to them Cingular is probably the best as far as coverage but their credit approval standards suck and unless you have really good credit, you may be asked to sell your soul to them for a deposit Nextel is very odd, works great where you wouldnt expect to even have service, but sometimes doesnt work at all in metro areas, very weird although i dont know about Verizon, its the only one i think i havent used in the past two years (do alot of traveling for work and they keep switching phone companies, thats how i have gotten to know them so well) good luck, theyre all a rip off, just have to pick the lesser of many evils
ccokeman Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I think Alltel is one of the ones doing it. I use verizon and all the people i talk to are on the in plan so basically i get unlimited talk time to the people i call the most . Then i have 400 minutes for all the other calls. henbenley Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I'm in high school right now and I'm on a family plan with my sister and mom with 400 minutes. Last month I used about 200 anytime minutes, but alot of my friends are using t-mobile too and all of those calls were free, and they also give you free nights after 9 and free weekends. So you could really get a 100 minute plan or somehitng small if you really only talked on weekends, to t-mobile customers, or after 9pm. THier service is pretty good, kinda spotty when driving down my road but theres alot of trees around. If you looking for the provider that has the best coverage and service then go with verizon. MY dad has them becuase of work and when we went on vacation with a bunch of other families and people, he was one of the only people with service (along with all other verizon customers) so he let everyone use his phone when they had to make calls. t-mobile is alot cheaper than anything else though
