rtsmith555 Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 can you tell by sight if a cpu is refurbished? are there any markings you should look for? I've got a P4 3.4 OEM that I just purchased which is awfully scratched up on the face of the die.

kurosen Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 any pics we could see? I wouldn't touch a RFed proc... just too much that could screw up...
rtsmith555 Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 (edited) any pics we could see? I wouldn't touch a RFed proc... just too much that could screw up... cheap digital camera combined with my lack of photography skills made the pics i took yesterday way ugly. looking to borrow a buddy's camera and will post them if they turn out ok. paranoid-- what causes the scratches/abrasions on a brand new processor? i've never seen it on a retail version. Paranoid Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Don't know what causes it, but the 5 P4's I've used all looked the same.
