Mombo Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Ok I was wondering if this might work. I havethe HIS 9800 Pro ICEQ and im starting to get artifacts on the higher lvl games that I just got. I Cant figure out how to get a RMA off the HIS website so I cant return it but what im wondering is If I flash it to a 9800 XT like alot of people do is there a possibility that it will fix the artifacts. Also if flashing it screws it up can you revert back down to a 9800 pro like it is now? If people have links or or names of the versions I should flash it with that would be great. InvaderTrax Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 It might if you have a R360 core. Anyway, are you OCing? If you are, then just lower it a little bit

ayampirupiru Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 Uninstall the driver, then clean it using the Driver Cleaner....install it back. Check whether the vc RAm is overheating or not usually this will happen when vc ram overheat.(This is from what I read in one of the thread). Good luck. Google for driver cleaner. DECwakeboarder Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 You would know if it's OC'd (you would have to it from your pc) your best bet would be to return it to wherever you bought it from and tell them your problem. Flashing it to an XT doesn't really make it an XT, it doesn't affect the card at all, the only thing that is different is that it will bump up the default clock speeds making your card artifact even worse. apostolics Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 does it really screw up your card if you flash to xt? what benifits or dis advantages does it have
airman Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 does it really screw up your card if you flash to xt? what benifits or dis advantages does it have just a slight voltage increase....and that's it i think. mombo...you can download ATITool, i'm not sure of the site, so just google it. when you open it up, let us know what the speeds are and we'll tell you if it is or not. also, about the artifacts. is it more like "snow" with white dots all over the screen or more like "tearing" where it's all...flickery?
