DECwakeboarder Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Either place is great, zzf usually has free shipping, so keep that in mind too
txtiggerr Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 NewEgg has always been good to me
Byron Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I've started ordering from ZZF recently, I live both about equally, ZZF is kind of annoying to find stuff, but the free 2nd day air is a plus. newegg.com has a better selection of parts, but they sometimes are way overpriced on items. my breakdown for both goes like this. 80% of my $$ to zzf (hardware) 20% to newegg (modding and pre-modded parts)
swifty11212 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 k thnx, now i gotta get my dad to order it for me and soon ill have a decent rig till i get in to college in a couple of years lol. I'll give ZipZoomFly a try.
andrusk Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Ive been a huge fan of zipzoomfly since it was googlegear. Ive always liked them more than newegg. Usually better shipping too. zzf is deginatly underrated.
r_target Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I just bought a video card from ZZF a couple weeks ago. Ordered Monday night, got it Thurday afternoon. They actually had 6800GT's in stock, which was more than could be said for the egg that week. Both ZZF and Newegg can goof around with their prices though, so you have to keep an eye on 'em. Kamikaze_Badger Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Prices rise and fall at the Neo Egg, so you have to keep an eye out on things there. And ZZF has a poor search feature. Took me forever to find what I was looking for there.
fire_storm Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Get the stuff from zip the prices look about the same but you get free 2nd day shipping.
Nerm Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Well, I just purchased parts for my new 2.4c system and I bought most of the stuff from Newegg becaues the parts I wanted were all cheaper there, but I bought the case and OS at ZipZoomFly because those were the only things they had cheaper than newegg. I buy from both, but at the moment newegg is cheaper on their Intel stuff.
BiPolar Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 price match between the two. Get it wherever it is cheaper. Like Andrusk, i've been a ZZF customer since it's googlegear days and it's always been good to me, with both prices and RMA. However, i wouldn't say it's necessarily always better than the egg, just go with whoweer can get you your parts hte cheapest! AMD_Wannabe Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 cant beat free second day, but newegg sometimes has pretty dang good deals that even with shipping beats ZZF, id order from both if i were building a system, that way you would really get the best deal
