spunducky Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 p4 3.4 lga775 800fsb prescot overclocked to 3.75 and 1075 fsb asus p5ad2e 925xe mobo crucial ddr2 667 512x2 overclocked to 711 western digital raptors 35gigx2 raid 0 striped evga 6600gt 128mb pci express danger den tdx watercooling system ultra x connect 500 watt power supply just by unlocking the cpu and raising it to 266 i got the p4 to 3.75 and the memory to 711 and the fsb to 1066. im running at a steady 44idle hoping if the artic silver cures it will cool off and adding some water wetter or coolant may help the temps. in 3dmark 03 i got a score of 8200 even is this decent for my first comp ive ever built? i think the gpu is holding me back i should get a x800xt. emm now i need to mess with voltages and set my memory timings (anyone else plz post theres). playing swb really nice compared to my dell and 5200 ultra lol i can see stuff i never seen b4
GregP24 Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 8200 is a good score for a 6600GT. How did you get 3.75ghz with a FSB of 266? Given the 3.4ghz multi is 17, 266FSB would be 4.5ghz.
spunducky Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 when u unlock it it lowers the multiplier to 14 and raises the mem to

Paranoid Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 That asus board allows a couple multis to be unlocked.
spunducky Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 ya my board is the asus p5ad2e premium which is a 925xe lga775 board at 280 bucks but i got built in 8 channel 24 bit sound and wireless wifi and ncq tech so to me it was a good deal i dont have to buy a 200 audigy or wifi card plus it will support the dual core chips when they are released. the asus p5ad2 premium 925x is a great deal at 220 bucks it is only 800fsb but u can flash to the new bios and that also unlocks the cpu so u can get a 14 multiplier. im locking up trying to hit 270 x14 but i havnt messed with the voltages and memory timings are set to auto im hoping i can get some more increase by tweaking these not sure if the mem can handle it thou
GregP24 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Interesting. I thought the procs were locked by Intel, and only the EE's were unlocked. So, how does Asus unlock the multi's? That's pretty cool.

agentorange Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Living up to your name. I have seen many articles about this and spunducky has it working so I would say Asus has deffinitely figured out a way to unlock certain p4's. spunducky Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 only using 667 memory and the p4 550 or 560 can be unlocked and the new EE edition chip is native 1066 my board supports 1066 fsb it is the 925xe but ya asus unlocked the bios for the p5ad2 premium 925x and i think the 915x as well but how can i try to push my mhz even farther would simply upping the voltages and setting my memory timings help me push it farther it gets unstable at 268x14 i was hoping to push it to 4.
