d3bruts1d Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 Photoshop is pixil based and Illistrator is vector based. That's all I know of, there may be more. I have them both, but only use Photoshop. It does everything I need.

sykocus Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 disturbed is right. photoshop is for editing raster (pixal) type graphics. while illistrator deal with vector graphics (mathimatically calucated). if you think of a say a red box. in raster graphics there is a pixal for each point of that image. where as vector graphics contain infomation such as as an area of such-and-such dimentions are filled in such-and-such shade of red. flash uses vector graphics its for that reason flash movies are realitively small.
