Softmod A Radeon 9800

Well, first you need to make sure your 9800 can handle Pro speeds. Try running some kind of OCing program at Pro speeds for a few days (with lots of intense gaming as well as general use). If everything looks good, then come back and I'll tell you how to flash to the Pro BIOS

Hey Invader....I have been using ATI tools and I have my card set at 402/335. Im not too sure what the 9800 pro marks are....are mine good enough? And ive been using these speed for about 5-6 days now.....Plus I have heat sync's on the video memory and a Arctic cooler for the GPU. ;)

well....if you're only making it to 335, then it seems to me like you've got 128bit memory. if ya do, that's not gonna cut it for an actual BIOS softmod. what you can do, is go to www.omegadrivers.net and download the drivers for ati, and during the install it will ask you if you have a 9800se and want to 'softmod' it and use 8 pipelines instead of 4. some cards work with it, i've owned 2 9800ses, and only 1 worked on 8 pipes.

but it's worth a try.

Not necessarily. My RAM won't go past 345, even though it's rated up to 359
