Dvd Region?

hmm....mine did this a few times....get some dvd region-removal software for your player. some firmware will remove the region locks too. i think by selecting my location, mine sorted itself out.

I think it's supposed to stop some guy, who got say the Harry Potter DVD in England a week before it's release in America, can't rip it, send it to some guy in Canada, and him burn 40 DVDs and sell them.

 

If that's really why, it's pretty gay.

Most burners come with 5 chances to change the region (my 2510A is region-free) B)

There are firmware upgrades that remove the regions; go to the manufacturer's website for a firmware upgrade.

two types of region-related systems for DVD drives, RPC-1 and RPC-2, the former is region-free and the latter has a limited number of region changes (usually 5)...

 

look for RPC-1 versions of firmware for your drive, here:

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php

 

and then use DVD Region Killer if you need to tell your software DVD player to stfu :D

i think it even works with RPC-2 drives sometimes... for RPC-1 drives you may not even need it...

i can vouch for that site... every single firmware does exactly what it says it does... ie they work
