lucky13* Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 (edited) has any company made a socket 478 mobo that has pci express? I'm thinking about buying a 6600GT or X700XT and want to know if I'll need a new mobo and proc. Mr. 2 1 Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 seem like you have a decen computer ...might as we sell your board , memory and your cpu on ebay and spend and extra 50-100 and upgrade everything. It might be a long wait if ever for a board with 478 with PCIe amd by that time all of your crap might be too outdated..? Good Luck though
cchalogamer Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 --------------------P4 3.0c Soyo P4i865PE Plus Dragon 2 PNY 1Gb (2 X 512) PC3200 80Gb Seagate ATA100 ATI 9200 256Mb (at least it's not an SE) Yeah i think you'll be better off upgrading it all. And your 100% correct, at least it's not and SE. I have a friend with one of those that can't be convinced it's not the best video card ever. only bc halo looks nicer in it than the integrated SiS 351 in his other PC (that also happens to be running a 1.3 duron lol) Cant imagine what he would do with a 9800 lol. Hope you get what you want in the end .
ICON57 Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 i also have been looking for a 478 motherboard w/pci express....so far the only : company that i know of that has one is asus....i found it on zipzoomfly.com but it is out of stock, anyway..i am not a big fan of asus, so i will wait for abit, or gigabyte to release one. I really want to get the ati x800 xt pe...but if i but it now, what would i do when i get my pci express board? So....it is a good time to just sit back and wait all this out...and let the prices come down a little...besides...i am able to play doom3 just fine.
