DrAwesomePhD Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I start up my computer, and the mobo beeps like crazy ... then i immediately check the PC health status (sounds like mobo temp beeping thing.. ) and its running at 37... So then i start up my computer, through all the beeps, and right when it starts up i run abit EQ... the beeping STOPS while this program is open, and it reads the temp of the CPU (while folding ) to be 39.5... Should i just shut off the CPU warning temp or whatever, because the CPU obviously isnt burning up
cybergrunt69 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 If it's the machine in your sig, it may be 'cause it can't find a cpu fan since it's running a watercooling setup. You may have to tell your mobo not to monitor the fan speed.
DrAwesomePhD Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 no, it ran fine before... i recently installed the dangerden fillport (and therefore emptied my entire system, took it apart and out of the case so i didnt get peices of steel all over any electronics...) and now after reinstalling it, i get the beeps... It recognizes theres no CPU fan... because no fan is plugged in... Maybe its because i took off that blue thing at the top of the motherboard? if anyone else has an ABIT IC7-max3... and has removed that blue thing with the fan... is it necessary to have it on? The motherboard could be recognizing that the fan for that particular installation isnt plugged in and therefore keeps giving me an error... cybergrunt69 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I think it is necessary for that blue thing (and it's fan) to be on there. It's for keeping parts of your mobo cool. Is it easy to put back on?
DrAwesomePhD Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 ya,its simple...its just annoying it doesnt seem to keep anything cool, and the fan is really loud, its probably best if the fan isnt going to be on to just remove the whole thing so the air can disipate the heat... its probably more for show than anything, i doubt it does some intense, or absolutely necessary, cooling
confuzzedintelguy Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 are you sure its not your fan rpm warning from your mobo some mobos don't like it when you don't have a rpm reading on your cpu port i would try hooking up a fan with rpm to the cpu fan spot and see if it stops
Hyper Threaded Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 If you're removing the OTES shroud, there should be some setting in Abit EQ or in the BIOS to disable the warnings. Your board treats the OTES fan like the CPU fan, it warns you if the fan isn't detected.
