Nerm Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I voted the FX-55. the FX's seem to have a slight upper hand on the P4 EE's in gaming and benching.

BloodySunday Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I voted the FX-55. the FX's seem to have a slight upper hand on the P4 EE's in gaming and benching. I would say its better then slight. I would definetly go with AMD they seem to be on a much better track right now.

DarkScorpion Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 FX-55, definatly. Think, the FX-53 was better then the EE in most benchs. The FX-55 is better then the FX-53. The FX-55 is $80 bucks cheaper. The FX-55 is truely 64-bit. The FX-55 is AMD. Period.

bigred Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 depends on what you're doing. this poll is useless without details of what exactly this computer is to be used for. gaming = FX video / audio work = P4 EE I can tell you the EE dominates that side of the fight as much as the FX dominates the gaming side. and unlike most guys here who have never SEEN either a P4EE or athlon FX system, let alone USED one. I OWN both.
Nerm Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 and unlike most guys here who have never SEEN either a P4EE or athlon FX system, let alone USED one. I OWN both. lol like the guys that get on here and say things like "I would take an XP 2100 over a P4 3.0c anyday" haha some people just amaze me lol. bigred Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 everyone reads the "benchmarks" that say the FX is better. but those benchmarks have flaws in them. first off can you tell the difference between 200 and 190 fps in a game? can you tell the .0002 seconds vs .0004 seconds? is your computer even for gaming? but then again 90% of computers out there aren't for gaming. 99% of those other ones out there could be a 1ghz celeron/duron for all the use they get. but then there is that other tiny % that makes up the market for the P4EE. not quite enough work to justify that xeon. but too much work for a standard P4. an in the apps those people run the P4EE owns all but the xeon
