confuzzedintelguy Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 you could always do the paper clip trick on the 20 pin molex
DrAwesomePhD Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 whats the paperclip trick and how do i do it on the 20 pin ?
ccokeman Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 A paper clip stuck into the green and any black wire on the 20 pin connecter. That tells the psu to turn on and then you should be set.
DrAwesomePhD Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 grrrr its not staying on i get this sudden jult of electricity (or so it seems) and then it shuts off right away doing the paper clip thing atleast... the metal is touching constantly
DECwakeboarder Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 make a temporary power switch from the green wire to a black one, I was getting that problem too if I left the 2 wires connected....it worked if I connected them and then disconected them quickly

Nemo Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Just to make sure - the jumper/short should be from pin 14 to pin 15 or 16.
airman Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 i've always done it from the green to the grey o_O
kobalt Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 (edited) Btw, you can get that other ps to power up with the main ps. It involves opening your main psu, and connecting (splicing in a "Y" fashion) your green wires and one black wire from your second psu to the main. On the pic i used a piece of red wire but it's on a black wire <_< It's very easy to do and saves a lot of troubles Edited October 23, 2004 by kobalt
Nemo Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 i've always done it from the green to the grey o_O Assuming you are referring to the grey wire on Pin 8, that's the PWR-OK wire. You should use one of the black wires (GRND)
