Ruisu Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 My new case is going to have room for two more 80mm fans. I'm checking them out on newegg and a lot of them have variable speeds. I was wondering how you control the speeds, they don't look like they come with switches, and not all of them are "smart". I'm getting the Powmax CP02124HL-02, it's the one with a led fan on the side, and two light-tubes on the front... anyone else got this case? kobalt Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Most of them comes with variable speed knobs that you install in the back in a slot space. Others like Tt or some others comes with thermal sensors and knobby things and jumpers so they'll stay full speed. It depends on the price you're willing to pay

fire_storm Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 (edited) It goes like this smart fans control there fan speed due to the change of heat if it gets hot the fans go up high RPMS and when it gets cool again lower RPM. There ment to make low sound and only get loud when they have to. Below there is a picture of TT fan controler (pci slot). But the down side is that you can pay up to $20 for 1 fan. slayer2cool Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 my advice? save up a few more bucks and get a vanctec fan controller..its a good future investment in the future if you decide to get even more fans, and a tornado or two..you wont have problem controlling them
