Frankie_CWRU Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 So my one of my machines has been sitting on the same frame for almost a day now...any way to dump what it is working on and get a new WU?
Byron Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Delete the work folder and also the queue file. That will wipe out the current wu.
Nemo Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Please dont dump the work unit- only do that as a last resort. First of all - is console running and actually folding? Try stopping and restarting the console first. You can also trying rebooting in case it's hung up. When you delete a work unit, Stanford has to wait until the time has expired on that work unit before it can reissue it to another folder. That might be as long as 60 days. I know that work units sometimes get inadvertantly deleted, but doing it on purpose is not good.
road-runner Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Go in the task manager and see if folding is using all of the cpu cycles, I had a simpler problem, a file for sound was using 99% and folding was doing nothing
Frankie_CWRU Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 seems to be working now...i restarted another process that was taking up a lot of the CPU
