chevy_z71 Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 I am overclocking my athlon xp 1800 and when I get the fsb up to 145 it becomes unstable. My vcore is 1.8v. Is there anything else that i can do to get it stable at that speed? Also will my radeon 8500 64mb run ok at those speeds?
Xst Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Hmm i have a 1900 at 144 FSB and if i go to 145 or 146 it starts to be come unstable. 12 x 144 is 1728 MHz with PC2700 333Mhz Capable Temps at 41 Idle and 45 load (not considerably high as far as AMD goes) All i can think of is the agp and pci bus is causing us the problem due to it running out of spec. chevy_z71 Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 That is what I was starting to think. I guess we will have to unlock our cpus then.

Vashious Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 You might be able to get your FSB higher if you up your RAM voltage. I had to do that to mine...just make sure you have some name brand RAM...I had some KingMax PC 2700 that couldn't take the increased voltage. Crucial on the otherhand, was more than capable of it.
