  lost, man you are lost if it's the heat sink you're talking about, but no matter keep your nose stuck to your screen and your browser to OCC and in no time you'll be able to OC like a champ :D

:) thats what i'm aiming for. and thanks for not laughing and going "omg what a n00b"

i think its a heatsink bracket. it goes into the mobo and it keeps the fan in place. the fan that i have is the one that came with the retail amd 64 2800+. and i have this mobo

http://english.aopen.com.tw/products/mb/AK89Max.htm

i have JUST the mobo

r those any good? or should i just get a new 1? but i'm soo broke after buying everything, id prefer to use this until i cna save up for more ram and then a water cooling system

hmm...that board's not the best, but it will do. For now. unfortunately i don't believe that you'll be doing any overclocking.

so in other words, if you can't afford anything else, it'd atleast be worth it to go ahead and get a RETAIL cpu, so it comes with a heatsink and heatsink bracket. and then once you get some more money, sell that board you currently have, and get a better one.

I can't find it now, but if you search the web you can find a heatsink bracket and buy it sep. When I bought my Thermalrightxp120 it came with alternate bracket. So if you can spend a few bucks, you might as well buy a better heatsink and get the bracket at the same time.
