openwheelracing Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Can I connect a DVD burner into a Ultra DMA 100/66 slot? I am trying to avoid having a DVD-rom and a DVD-burner connected into one slot via one cable. (ie. a master and a slave) So I want to use the UDMA 100/66 slot (blue) for my new burner. (ie. a primary master and a secondary master) Before I fry my new burner or mobo. Could this work?
bdylyzsouless Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 yes it should. are you going to connect it to the channel that the hard drive is on?

bdylyzsouless Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 well I dont see it being a problem. I know people that connect their cd/dvd roms to one channel and a burner of some sort to the same channel as the hd. should work fine. imm0rt41 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 It SHOULD work, but it depends on whether your IDE controller and SATA controller cooperate. Mine was being a pain in the rear when I had to hook up an IDE drive with SATA drives installed.
