worker Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 I think the best to change is when stuff gets in the pipes.
The_WRATH Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 uh huh, thats why i want to bleed my system i wanted to no how to do it because to me, bleeding the system is to just dump all the liquid in the sink
suchuwato Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 dump it all in the sink you only need to worry about spilling on your bits. whaen all the water is out take everything off, wash it and refill it. make sure no air bubbles
The_WRATH Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 what, wash it as in with WATER? i thought water has all those nastys in it, wouldnt i need to wash it out with distilled water coolant mix?
suchuwato Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 distilled water if you want <_< if you add the correct stuff to your mix for cooling, you shouldn't have to worry. but you can use distilled stuff if you want
The_WRATH Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 ah i just need to bleed it because i bought my kit used and the owner before me didnt maintain the hoses before he sold it to me, so i think there was a build up of something inside
suchuwato Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 clean it out with something that isn't corrosive (like bleach ) and then rise it thoughly. use windex and water mix with some addatives to stop alge
MindDrive Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 i would replace those silicone hoses with nylon hoses - plus the nylon hoses are CLEAR which will give your water cooling kit a cooler look - those silicone hoses are dust magnets and when they get dirty they arent very easily cleaned you can get the same size hose at a hardware store for like 20 cents a foot or less -- it would just be as easy to get new hose and then you can mix highlighter ink or UV water dye if you use a cold cathode light it looks cool ^_^
The_WRATH Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 how much windex would you recommend?
suchuwato Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 test different amounts and play around with the mix to see different temps. i'm not the best person to talk to about watercooling, but some guys use antifreeze. try 50:50 windex:water to start with. then when you have found the right mix add uv/higlighter and wetter water or other additive
MindDrive Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 nonononoonono - never want a 50/50 mix with water with anything - water is the best single ingredient when watercooling - you only need a TINY bit of anything added to water to work properly - the more additives you add to water the less it does what its supposed to do - if anything if you use say 2 cups of water i would only put a spoonfull of anything else
