Recommended Posts

Im getting ready to buy a new case from newegg. wile they dont say any thing other than it includes a 420w psu, the Raidmax site says it is a P4 ready psu.

will I have any problems using it with an AMD?

What they mean by it being "p4 ready" is that it has the 4pin p4 mb connector for p4's. So Yes, it will work with an amd setup, you may or may not use this 4 pin connector. Personally, My giga-byte board has one even though it is an amd board :-P

The included raidmax PSU's are totally crap. Do yourself a favor and buy a separate PSU. How much is your spending limit for a new PSU if you were to get one?

Im on a very strict limit. the only reason Im getting a new case is because my HP doesnt have room for a dif motherboard.

If the raidmax psu works, Im sure its bound to be a bit better than the 218w psu in my HP.

If you're on a tight budget, then the stock psu will be fine. Raidmax isn't too bad...at least they have a brand name, lol. I only start to get worried when there IS no brand name. The psu may not have the best rails, but it will work fine.

Most ps are P4 ready and most AMD users just roll up the extra wire on top of the PSU or like me cut all unwanted wires
