Increased Ram Affective Overclocking?

I had a 2.4c overclocked to 2.85 stable with 512mb of ram.....i just recently upgraded to a gig and i cant overclock as high. Can anyone help me out here. I added to same exact type and amount of ram and am now running dual channel. THanks

Yea, its probably the ram. Take the stick that you just bought, and try running just that stick. Not your old one. See if you can get as high of an OC. If not, increase the voltage until you can. Then stick the other stick back in, that is just aboutall that you can do. Try loosening timings some also.

What you want to do when ocing in dual channel, or 2 or most sticks of ram is to get "matched pair" They are basically 2 sequencially made sticks of ram that have been tested together. That way you know that your ram you have is fully compatible and both will run at the same speeds. Because I could get another 512 stick of corsair xms 3200 pro, and it might be a different revision, therefore maybe different ram chips, thus effecting my overclock.
