recoverep Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 are those temps about normal for a AMD 2200+ (no overclocking). The CPU temp jumps about 10* at full load and HD temp about 2-4*. thanks, Josh

recoverep Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 ok lets say i wanna overclock... i am kinda new to the whole cooling thing. Based on these temps how much head room do I have to OC (temperature wise) before it gets to be too much?
RADEON Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 not a whole lot. um amd chips can usually handle bout 55c but thats a little hot. go get your self a good after market cooler preferably something made of copper with a good fan that pushes alot of air.once u get idle temps in the 30's and load in the 40's your good. but you never know till u try. just oc it a little bit and test is stability with prime 95 and check your temps. but i wouls still recomend a better cooler for that chip. worker Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Those temps look ok a little low maybe 5+ up would be the real temp but you could have a very good cooler and thats why your temps are low.
