darreljaeger83 Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 (edited) My friend told me there is a way to unlock the processor by "sticking a piece of somethin conductive between two points on the mobo"...is that a load of crap or is it actually possible to unlock my P4? Eva_Unit_0 Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 No, it doesn't work for P4's. There is a wire-mod that can be done for Athlon XP's, but nothing can unlock the 478 P4's.
airman Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 yeah...there are these little bridges on the actual processor itself...and you just draw a little line of conductive paint and if you have the right week of processor, then you've just unlocked it. that's with amd xp and thunderbird chips. i did it with my thunderbird chip (1.1ghz) and got it to 1.6ghz. can't remember the speeds though ;
Guest FxXP Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 The only Intel unlock trick I knew of was for the older Celeron Slot-1's. You could put a piece of tape over one of the pins on the processor and unlock its FSB.
