Bosco Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 How come they read weird in XP? On my laptop it reads as a 1000Mhz but is a XP2800. I just did a desktop with a Mobile 2500, and it reads at a 1000Mhz during the post, I change the FSB to 200Mhz and it reads as 1200Mhz and when I turn the jumper off the speed goes down. Any ideas? spathalogic Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Either there is some weird thing I dont know about, or your multiplier is being weird .. hmmm.
Byron Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 You could probably fix it in the bios, by changing the multiplier. Besides that, your baord might not be compatible with mobile chips.

exeter_acres Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 it is normal for the mobo to not read the mobile CPU.... if I set my board to "default" it runs at 800Mhz..... if you set the FSB and multi manually it should be OK... RVE Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Mines the exact same way. Default settings go 100mhz FSB and 8x Multi on mine. Just set it manually and it should run fine.
