d3bruts1d Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Reported in the news earlier this morning that Plextor was rumored to be returning to the SCSI market... I couldn't find any information about this on Plextor's web site, so I emailed them.... Dear Mr. McDaniel: Normally, Plextor does not comment on its new product plans. However, we have so many loyal users that consistently want to know when a new product might be available. Plextor has been in development of a new SCSI interface chip for some time. Currently our plans are to introduce this new drive in December and I am about to inform our distributors/customers accordingly. Thank you for your interest in Plextor and its products. Howard J. Any comment on this? Regards, Bryan K. McDaniel w00t

d3bruts1d Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 Just got another reply back from the message I sent to Plextor earlier... "We are currently developing a 40/12/40S with a specially designed SCSI interface chip to handle the higher transfer rates and encoding/decoding required by this faster device."
