Cpu Decision

Recommended Posts

ok well here is the deal at first i was gana git a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ s939 90nm chip but thin i read the first english review which said that it didnt evan perform as good as the socket 754 3000+ which was a great disapointment so i have come to ask all of you what should i do should i just git the 3000+ s939 90nm chip and live with the poor performance or should i git a 3200+ s754 AMD Athlon 64 and run that and last but not least should i just git the P4 3.0c and overclock it all of these cpus are in the same price range and i just dont know what to do

all feed back is apreciated Thanks

I would say go with a S939 3200+ because I think the reason the S939 3000+ didn't not perform as well as the S754 3000+ is because of the lower clock speed and the onboard dc memory controller just couldn't make up for the speed loss. And you if you get a 939 3200+ you can use a 10X multi and it should overclock pretty well(assuming your an overclocker). And I think its worth it in the long run to go S939.

i dissagree with bloodysunday

the 90nm process is something new...and from all of the cpu benchmarks i've seen (not memory), the s939 3000+ gets beat by everything but the 3.2c. it tied the s754 2800+ in framerate tests in cinebench.

i think it's a pitiful cpu. i would save up and get a normal 3500+ s939.
