sdy284 Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 (edited) Well i finally got sick of the high pitched wail from my tornado. I was wondering if I would notice a significant temp increase going from my tornado @ 119CFM to the 92mm Panaflow @ 56CFM. I was poking around google, and panaflow seemed to be the best option, for 92mm fans that won't annoy the (expletive deleted) out of me. So what do you guys think? markiemrboo Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 I'm pretty sure I saw a review of... an SP-97 with a tornado and a panaflo compared. Tornado only did a few degree's better if I remember rightly? Also, the 462-V is 'tuned' for low air flow... so it probably won't be that much of an increase I'd definately give it a shot, btu then I can't stand loudness! General Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 NO WAY! you replaced a tornado! Your the Mad Modder himself. what can we think.. You replaced a fan i would buy a sunon fan, they push something like 91CFMs (maybe more) and their relativly quiet. I was talking to mangar on the phone, and he walked in his pc room and i could barely hear him over the dang tornadoes
sdy284 Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 91CFM? I saw a few sunon's that were around 50...none that were 91...got a link general?
GTSticky Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Well i finally got sick of the high pitched wail from my tornado Way to go dude. Having a tornado going at full blast (or even close) and suggesting that the sound is "OK" is rediculous. Welcome to being able to hear your television, phone and other people talking in the same room and yes, Panaflo > all
markiemrboo Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Is the tornado on a 4 pin molex, or a 3 pin weird thing? You could twiddle the wires on the molex and run it at 7v.. that'd probably give you a rough feel for a 50CFM fan...

markiemrboo Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Is it a 4 pin plug on the fan? If so you can swap some wires around to make it run at 7v... = less noise... = less air flow. I do it on most fans. Or yeah, you could use a variable resistor like others suggest. But switching wires around has always worked for me http://www.fishnet.me.uk/7volts.html
worker Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Get somthing that has a fan with cfm 70+ should do good cooling lower nose. Or if you want no nose get somthing with 40 cfm or lower.

ccokeman Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Mine finally crapped out from running below 12v. it developed a wicked vibration so right now i have a thermaltake 50cfm 92mm fan on my sp-94 and its only 3c warmer so i think i'll leave it like this for awhile. sdy284 Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Ya, that was another thought in my head, running my tornado @ 7 V isn't bad for it...is it? I wouldn't think that it would be...
