fungus Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 is it a good stable motherboard? i've bought it a while ago but i had to eco so i thought it would do. i dont realy use alot-alot of functions only agp. dont need SATA i dont overclock nether. but all i want to know if it is good enough that the motherboard doesnt slow down my components or anything or gives problems : amd 2000+ ati 9600SE 2*256ram pc2700 i'am also plugging a 370watt enermax on that 2HD's floppy and a cd-rw ... thats it i guess hmmm sorry for my ignorance about everything but i'am learning
jeffg Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 i've got one that i am really happy with. I've had two different processors in it. It's been very stable and reliable. it has never failed and its been running 24/7 for almost a year now, usually folding. alot of folks completely overlook the via chipset, after the nvidea nforce2 became known as the fastest. the via kt400a is old news nowadays. but its been a great board for me. i dont plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. I have overclocked it as much as possible. but that chipset cannot lock the pci and agp frequencies. as you raise the fsb, the pci and agp busses increase in speed as well. i think its very well suited for amd processors up to 2400+ and pc2700 memory.
