LobbDogg Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I think if it were me I'd buy the Athlon chip and MSI board first. Then again it depends what you do more of. Do you do lots of gaming or do you do other things more?

computerfreakxv Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Game mostly. But my system right now is really weak... so, I dont know... I might just go ahead and wait on the 6800Gt then build my system... Running a 9700 isnt that bad... is it?
GTSticky Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Actually, a 9700 is a pretty dang good card. I just hate to see you buy a CPU while AMD is on top. Wait till Intel's next round
computerfreakxv Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 (edited) Ok, so here is the deal... My Dad needs a better computer REAL bad and I told him that I would be willing to give home my old PC, (the one I'm on now) if he would be willing to help me out with the purchase of my AMD Winchester system... Now that I am able to buy the Winchester system I'm not sure that I want to... I mean... They are new CPU's and no one has been able to test them out or anything... so ... do you guys think that I should go ahead and get the Winchester CPU now or wait till they have been reviewed a bit more???
